Description

The Sinharaja Forest is one of Sri Lanka is last remaining undisturbed rainforest, located in the wet zone of the island bordering three districts of the island, namely Galle, Matara and Ratnapura districts and only accessible by foot. Sinharaja Forest Reserve, the location of the Sinharaja Rain Forest is in the South Western part of the island and covers an area of 11,187 ha (Hectares). There are 830 endemic species in Sri Lanka, and many of these can be found in Sinharaja Forest Reserve.
